/əmˈpouərmənt/ noun : the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights. Empowerment can come through many sources. I believe that "iron" can be one of those sources. There is something powerful about challenging yourself, overcoming obstacles and learning the amazing, badass things your body is capable of. |
STRENGTH
The vision of Uplift Strength and Fitness is to make strength available to everyone regardless of where they are coming from or what their goals are. "Lifting Big" takes many forms and is unique to each individual. Some people want to test the limits of their body's capabilities while others simply want to move well, without pain. Strength training is an important part of fitness and body composition change and is something everyBODY can benefit from! It is my desire to help individuals reach their strength and health goals and provide reliable and REAL information regarding nutrition, training, and overall health. |
BODY NEUTRALITY
We are constantly bombarded with advertisements and societal pressures that tell us we aren't good enough. From all directions we're told to "fix this and fix that". While everyone has different goals in terms of their fitness, we focus and encourage approaching your goals with love and respect for your body - instead of with hate. |
TRANSPARENCY
Life isn't picture perfect. I believe in breaking down perceptions of perfection and societal ideals and to do that, honesty and transparency is crucial. Life is messy, and there is freedom in being real. |
