There’s something magical about the clang of a caber hitting the ground, the whoosh of a weight sailing over the bar, and the unmistakable sound of laughter echoing between athletes who have each other’s backs.
This year’s Boise Scottish Festival Highland Games were packed with those moments — and our Iron Sirens and Steele Manatees showed up in true Iron Siren style. Strength in Numbers What started as a handful of curious lifters quickly turned into a small army of plaid-clad athletes — a mix of seasoned throwers and first-timers ready to see what the Highland Games were all about. Each event demanded its own flavor of power and precision: from the technical rhythm of the hammer throw, to the brute control of the caber toss, to the crowd-pleasing weight for height. And every single Siren and Manatee gave it their all. The photo above captures exactly what the day felt like: sun-warmed smiles, tartan pride, and the joy of shared strength. More Than Medals Yes, there were podiums. Yes, there were trophies. But what stood out most wasn’t the hardware — it was the heart. Watching athletes support one another across divisions was a beautiful reminder of what these communities are built on: 💚 Encouragement over ego 💚 Pride in progress 💚 Strength for every body A hige thank you to the event organizers and volunteers who made the Games run smoothly — the day couldn’t have happened without your hard work and passion for the sport. The Takeaway Days like this remind us that strength comes in many forms: it’s in the throws, the laughter, the courage to try something new, and the way we lift each other up — literally and figuratively. Whether you’re tossing cabers, chasing PRs in the gym, or just finding your strength story, know that you’ve got a tribe behind you. Here’s to muddy boots, flying hammers, and a crew that makes the world a little stronger every time they show up.

On Saturday, September 6th, 2025, the 5th-annual Battle of the Brawny Babes took over Mad Swede Brewing Company in Boise, Idaho.
Setting & Purpose
Highlights & Community Wins
As the calendar resets, the ripples from this event carry on. The strength built here will translate into gym sessions, personal goals, and next-level competitions. “Brawny Babes” isn’t just a one-day event — it’s a movement. We can’t wait to see where 2026 takes us. This year’s Battle at the Barnyard, that Iron Siren hosted at Danelion Brewery, was one for the books. The sun was shining, the crowd was electric, and the smell of chalk, adrenaline, and good beer filled the air. Competitors from all over Idaho (and beyond!) came ready to test their grit in true Highland-inspired, barnyard-strong fashion — and wow, did they deliver.
From keg presses to loading locally sourced boulders to a farm truck bed, every event was a mix of brute strength and sheer determination. But what really made the day special was the community — the comraderie between lifts, the cheers from friends and families, and the way athletes rallied behind one another no matter the weight on the bar. The Iron Sirens and Steel Manatees Showed Up Big Our Iron Sirens and Steel Manatees didn’t just compete — they dominated. Several brought home trophies and podium finishes, showing exactly what happens when consistent training, teamwork, and a whole lot of heart come together. Whether it was a first-time competitor hitting a PR or a seasoned athlete grinding out every rep, each one made us proud to the core. More Than Medals Beyond the wins, what stood out most was the energy. So many athletes talked about how supported they felt, how inclusive and uplifting the environment was, and how this event captured what the strength community is all about — every body belongs here. That’s the Iron Siren spirit. Cheers to the Crew A massive shoutout to the volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and Danelion Brewery for making it all possible. You kept the lifts running smoothly, the music pumping, and the beers cold. And to our crowd — your enthusiasm fueled every lift and every smile. Until Next Time Battle at the Barnyard 2025 reminded us why we do what we do: because strength isn’t just measured in pounds — it’s measured in community, courage, and connection. This change represents a bold step forward in the journey we’ve built together. After much thought and reflection, I wanted a name that truly captures the essence of what we stand for: strength, empowerment, and resilience. Here’s why Iron Siren feels like the perfect fit: Iron: A universal symbol of strength and durability, just like the incredible transformations happening within these walls. Iron reminds us of the grit, power, and dedication it takes to grow stronger—physically and mentally. Siren: More than a mythical symbol, the Siren embodies allure, confidence, and empowerment. It represents the powerful energy we aim to ignite in every person who walks through our doors. Strength and Fitness: These are not just words—they’re the foundation of what we do. Whether you’re here to build physical strength, improve endurance, or transform your lifestyle, we’re here to support you every step of the way. While the name may be changing, my commitment to providing a welcoming space where you can challenge yourself, grow stronger, and achieve your goals remains the same. This is more than a gym—it’s a community. It’s a place where iron sharpens iron, and where every individual can unleash their inner strength. Iron Siren Strength and Fitness is about embracing your power and becoming the best version of yourself. Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together under this new banner! Let’s continue to lift each other up—one rep, one step, one milestone at a time. The 4th annual Battle of the Brawny Babes! Such an amazing event and so thankful to everyone who showed up and competed and volunteered! It is always so inspiring watching these badass babes give it there all in competition...and then cheer each other on. We were able to raise over $500 for the Idaho Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence as well! Stayed tuned and join us next year.
